I joined this site to try to get fit.  I have tried several different sites, this seems like good site.

    Hi hoolahay20,

You'll love it!  Just treat it as a bank account that you monitor every day.  Once you set up a weight goal, you are granted a certain balance (calories) every morning to use for the day.  As you eat and track your food, the balance is reduced.  You can plan ahead and put in all you plan to eat for the day to stay within your daily budget.  If you don't plan ahead, just make sure to read the labels of things to see how much they will "cost" (calories), or check into the site for things that don't have labels. Ask yourself, "Is it worth it? Will I be hungry tonight if I eat this now because my account is too low at dinner time? Tongue Tied  If you don't put everything in at the beginning of the day, keep the labels of things and jot down a running total or if you have access to a computer Computer in the day, keep your account updated so you know what you have left at dinner time. Nothing worse than being hungry and having to "update your bank register" at the last minute to see what you have let for dinner. Smile

If you log in your exercise, it's like making a deposit to your account for the day.  You can treat it two ways.  Either consider it as more to spend (eat) for the day or don' eat and realize you will get to your idea weight just that much faster. Actually, I've been told that if I go over my "budget" one day, cut back a little the next day as long as I stay within the weekly total I'm fine so I guess you can consider the same for your exercise calories.  But there really are no "rollover" calories after a week."  (No such thing really as a savings account.)

This site has really worked for me.  I lost 30 lb between Sept 2007 to March 2008. I slacked off during the spring and summer between searching for, purchasing, and moving into a new house.  I'm back on track again. I set up a new goal and plan to loose 15 lb by the end of 2009.  I'll be in the middle of my idea weight range giving me some wiggle room to creep up a little from time to time without getting back into the "overweight" range.  Good luck in your journey to health.
