  • Re: Recipe Box updated

Hi Lisa, I had really wanted to combine the custom foods and recipes into one single page but discovered I couldn't based on the way the data is saved in the database...there just isn't a way to combine the two items into a single listing.  I will give some thought to the ''copy over'' feature and see if I can do something like that in the ...

  • Recipe Box updated

The recipe box page has been updated to reflect the new site design that I've been slowly but surely working on.  You'll notice that it pretty much works in the same manner as the Pantry.  The only big difference is that you can only add one recipe at a time to your Food Log, whereas in the Pantry you can bulk add a bunch of seperate ...

  • Re: Updated Pantry & Activity Log

HeeHee: An observation I made when adding foods is the dialog box.  I like the one in the food log that is used to update a food better than the others.  The main thing I like is that I can add measurements out to 2 decimals.  The others round up to one.  I like the conversion table in it as well. Are you ...

  • Save Cookbook Recipes

Happy to announce that you can now save the recipes in the FoodsDatabase cookbook to your own personal Recipe Box.  You can also directly add a recipe to your Food Log as well.  Simply click on the orange options dropdown at the top right of the recipe.  Printing to come in a few short days. • Re: Create Recipes

Hey RD, Thanks for the very detailed ideas, it really does help! 1)  I wanted to allow a user to see their Pantry items grouped by shelves but discovered it was impossible to do.  The water-down reason is because of the Not Filed shelf...its assigned a database number thats the same as everyone else, whereas your custom shelves have ...

  • Re: Create Recipes

Making progress....! 1) Yes.  The old recipe creator wouldn't allow you to add Pantry items either; you always had to search for each ingredient.  However, that is something I'm working on right now, so expect the ability to browse your Pantry to find ingredients within a week or so. 2) Yes, I kind of explained it at the top of the ...

  • Create Recipes

Just a quick note that the Recipe Creator page is back online.  It did take a little longer than expected, mostly because I had to integrate a way to manually enter in the nutritional values of a food if a member doesn't want to search for each ingredient (although searching for ingredients is still the preferred method as it will lead ...

  • Re: Can't Add a Recipe

As mentioned above, I've been working on re-doing the add recipes feature over the last couple of days and expect to have it finished by the end of this week.  If you never had a chance to use it before, the add a recipe feature was split across 3 pages.  I'm streamlining it down to two (an entry and a review).   Also, the ...

  • Re: Create Recipes

subby: Hi there - my wife and I both created the same recipe (Black Bean Soup). Is there any way to either delete or modify recipes once they are saved? Hi subby, I guess the same still holds true today as before, the recipe's section is still pretty weak with features...i've been distracted working on other parts of the website! Anyways, ...

  • Re: Recipes

slambeaux: How do I create a recipe and use an item that I added to my personal pantry? You can't use custom-created foods for a recipe.  There is a reason, though! A lot of members make their recipes public.  I review each one to make sure nothing seems out of whack (like 4 cups salt or 28oz of salmon) and that another member who ...
